The following was extracted from the AIATSIS Catalogue (Mura?) back in 2002 by myself.
I am not sure how I did this but I dont think there was anything special in the process.
Looking at my original file I appear to have searched the catalogue for the words
"Brewarrina". However I cant guarantee this is a complete list.
The initial format of each entry was as follows -
The numbers at the left hand side are record type numbers.
Line .520. is the description of the event
Line .600. is the name of the person
Line .691. is the location
Line .773. is the reference
[xxxxxx] references AIATSIS's ABI index

.520. | Decorated Police Tracker. From the early days of white
settlement, the police have had the assistance of black trackers in their
work. Frank Williams, who now lives in retirement at Bourke, NSW, was a
police tracker for 45 yrs. He was born in 1881 at Tooralle Station on the
River Warrego in the Bourke district. Brought up, as he was, in the bush,
he learnt tracking when a child. At 19 he started as a police tracker at
Drysdale, 23 miles nth of Cobar, and down through the years, served at
Gongolon, Cobar, Dubbo, Byrock, and Bourke. His longest time in one place
was 25 yrs at Byrock, and the last 12 yrs he served at Bourke. Since his
retirement he has several times been called in to lend the police a hand.
He reckons his hardest tracking job was to follow and find Mack McDonald,
years ago. McDonald was a full blood aborigine who had come down to
Brewarrina from Queensland. At Brewarrina he murdered a boy under very
savage circumstances, and then went bush. Williams set out on his trail
and tracked him from Brewarrina towards Weimoringle Station - a distance
of over 50 miles. Much of the track was through creeks, where McDonald
went to avoid being traced. But Williams caught up with him, and found him
asleep, and had him arrested. He is very proud of the gold watch presented
to him by the police when he retired from the force. He is also proud of
the citation sent to him from St James Palace, London, by the Registrar of
the Imperial Service Order, which he was awarded, and of the day in Nov
1953, when he went to Government House in Sydney and received the medal
and ribbon of that order. Two of his sons served in the Second World War.
One was killed in Malaya, and the other spent more than three years on the
horror railway line as a prisoner of the Japanese.
