Arrangements are being made to return him to the Northern Territory. 11. 7.1962 From Department of Health Darwin to Health Canberra Leprosy from the Northern Territory No trace of Colin Williams. Ray Walker has arrived safely and is now in East Arm Settlement. 20. 7.1962 From Department of Health Canberra to Health Brisbane Leprosy from the Northern Territory It appears that the boy, Ray Walker, was known here at one time as Colin Williams. The lad was in some trouble with the Police. It is further assumed that Ray Walker is the same lad as Sydney Walker, born 29. 4.1947, ex Croker Island, who appears on our list. This lad was traced to several addresses and finally to a Reformatory. He was not examined by a Medical Officer of this Department and it was stated that he had been examined on admission to the Reformatory and found healthy. 31. 7.1962 From Department of Health Brisbane to Health Canberra Re Children transferred from Northern territory to southern states Sydney Walker was not examined by a Medical Officer of this Department. When traced, he had been committed by a Court to Westbrook Boys' Home. He was then known as Ray Walker. At that time there had been riots and mass breakouts from the Home. Consequently when we requested an opportunity to examine the boy we were informed that the authorities would prefer no visitors to the Home for any reason. We were assured that the boy had been recently medically examined and was quite healthy. It was agreed that we would be informed when he was discharged. We were not informed and the boy was eventually picked up by State Health Authorities under the name of Colin Williams. The State Department of Health advised us of arrangements made to return him to the Northern Territory, and the Commonwealth Director of Health, Darwin, was informed. 8. 8.1962 From Department of Health Canberra to Health Brisbane Re Children transferred from Northern Territory Medical reports wanted for the following children Glynis Braun Tommy Chandler Barbara Chisolm Margaret Keen Thomas Riley Lana Thomas (Pearce) Eileen Smith Stan Albury Elizabeth Carter Marilyn Braun Margaret Crosbie Patricia Furber Michael Riley Janet Thomas (Pearce) Florrie Ware Allen Fisher Fay Crosbie Valeria McLennan 23. 8.1962 To Department of Health Canberra Re Children transferred from Northern Territory Result of examinations made June and July 1961.
