Most of the inmates are Aboriginals, but an arrangement exists with the Western Australian Government for all lepers from that state to be cared for in the Leper Hospital at Channel Island, a charge being made against the Western Australian Government.There are three or four local aged white men under treatment, but as it is understood they are in advanced stages of the disease it is not likely that a permanent cure will be effected. 19. 8.1937 Note from the Leper Hospital, Channel Island.
